Paul M. Snyder is a partner at PSW. Prior to
joining the firm in February 1993, Snyder served for four
years as tax and trade counsel to former Congressman Ed Jenkins
(D-GA), a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee.
As tax counsel, he developed expertise in a broad range of
tax issues, including general business tax issues, ERISA
and employee benefit tax law, real estate taxation, and technology
industry tax issues.
Snyder helped craft the Jenkins-Archer
capital gains proposal and the Research and Development
Tax Credit compromise included
in the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1989. He also
played a substantial role in crafting portions of the Reconciliation
Act of 1990, the Tax Simplification and Technical Corrections
Act of 1991, and the Tax Fairness and Economic Growth Act
of
1992.
From 1985 to 1989, Snyder practiced law in Washington,
D.C. with the firm of Hogan & Hartson, where he engaged
in a general corporate litigation practice. From 1979 to 1985,
he
was a legislative assistant to House Speaker Thomas P. O’Neill,
Jr., where he served as liaison to public and private sector
entities in Massachusetts and was responsible for managing
legislation related to their interests.
Snyder graduated from
Boston College and Georgetown University Law Center. He is
a member of the District of Columbia and
Massachusetts Bar Associations. |
