WASHINGTON, September 8, 2014 - Public Strategies Washington (PSW), a leading independent public affairs firm that represents corporations, industry trade associations, public sector clients and non-profits, today announced that longtime Republican leadership aide Chris Vieson has joined the firm as a partner.

Most recently, Chris served as the Director of Floor Operations for Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), where he was responsible for managing the legislative agenda for the House of Representatives. Working with the chairmen and members of the various committees, Chris guided numerous pieces of legislation through the House on issues ranging from appropriations and tax to energy and health care.

"Chris' close working relationship with House leadership, Members and staff, as well as his extensive experience on the House floor, will be a tremendous asset to our clients," said PSW Managing Partner Patrick O'Neill.

Prior to his years in the Majority Leader's office, Chris served in the Republican Whip office, working for Rep. Cantor and Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO). In the Whip operation, Chris was responsible for executing the House Republicans' vote strategy and building coalitions to advance the leadership's agenda. Before joining the Whip office, Chris was a policy analyst in the House Republican Conference for Rep. Adam Putnam (R-FL) and Rep. Deborah Pryce (R-OH).

Chris is a 2003 graduate of Tulane University.

"We are delighted to have Chris on the PSW team. His years on the House floor and extensive relationships across Capitol Hill will help us continue to grow the services we have proudly delivered to our clients over the past 23 years," said PSW partner Steve Eichenauer, who manages the firm's lobbying practice.

"I am excited to start the next phase of my career with the talented and experienced team at PSW. It has been an honor to work with the members of Congress and staff for nearly a decade and I look forward to applying my unique understanding of the legislative process to the expertise that PSW offers its clients," said Vieson.
