Washington, DC - Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) today announced a number of senior staff changes as preparations continue for the start of the 115th Congress.

Chris Vieson has been appointed Deputy Staff Director for the full Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure; Fred Miller has been appointed to General Counsel for the full Committee; Holly Woodruff Lyons has been appointed to Aviation Subcommittee Staff Director and will continue to serve as the full Committee’s Deputy General Counsel; Mary Phillips has been appointed Staff Director of the Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee; Geoff Gosselin has been appointed Senior Professional Staff on the Highways and Transit Subcommittee and Senior Advisor to the Chairman; and Chris Brown has been appointed Oversight Counsel.

“Over the course of the past two Congresses, the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has demonstrated an ability to efficiently move legislation from the hearing room to the President’s desk. We have been effective thanks in no small part to our talented staff, whose experience and knowledge have enabled our Committee to advance an agenda to ensure America has a 21st century infrastructure and to strengthen the Nation’s competitiveness,” said Shuster. “I am sure the talent and hard work displayed by these professionals will continue to benefit the Committee into the next Congress as they assume their new roles, and as we get to work with the new administration to address our infrastructure needs.”

Chris Vieson joins the Committee from Public Strategies Washington, where he is a partner in the firm’s government affairs group. Previous to his stint with Public Strategies Washington, Chris held a number of positions on the Hill, most recently as the Director of Floor Operations for Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Before that, he served as a floor assistant and policy advisor on appropriations for Republican Whip Roy Blunt. He was also a legislative analyst for House Republican Conference Chairs Deborah Pryce and Adam Putnam.
